About
Hi there, fellow Internet person!
I’m a middle-aged Canadian woman who loves blogging for fun. I first started building websites during the Angelfire / GeoCities / Tripod days, and cut my blogging teeth on LiveJournal.
I have no professional background in software or web development, so please don’t judge my code too harshly; I’m entirely self-taught and sometimes make mistakes!
I try not to talk about politics on my website, but if you must know, I am very socially and fiscally liberal. I denounce any individual, corporation, or institution that exploits people for further enrichment of the millionaire and billionaire classes.
“People as things, that’s where it starts.”
“Oh, I’m sure there are worse crimes–”
“But they starts with thinking about people as things.”— Terry Pratchett, Carpe Jugulum (1998), p.314
Like my favourite author (quoted above), I consider myself a secular humanist. I’ve built a career out of helping people, and can’t imagine myself doing anything else.
Last, but certainly not least, I’m happily married to my amazing husband. We share a home with our feline friends, who graciously allow us to occupy their territory. I will pay the cat tax on my blog at some point in the near future, promise!
